Our goal is to provide you and your organization with the most up-to-date emergency training on the Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and First Aid techniques.

Heart Start, Inc. was founded in January 2001 by Jeff Kim, who is currently serving as a a Firefighter/Paramedic in the San Francisco Bay Area with over 23 years of professional experience. It has been through Jeff’s observation as a Firefighter/Paramedic that he soon realized that there were far too many unfortunate outcomes during a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) event. Jeff states, “There simply has not been enough public knowledge and training on the various life saving techniques that are now available to assist a patient until medical help can arrive.” With Jeff’s desire to bring this life saving knowledge to the public, he has successfully assembled a team of professional trainers with over 100 years of combined emergency service experience.

Heart Start, Inc. will create a heart safe environment by developing an AED response program for you. This program may include the purchase of an AED, as well as assist with developing a plan to ensure readiness through AED, CPR, and First Aid training. It is through bringing the use of these skills together that you are able to raise the chances of survival significantly.

Heart Start Inc. only employs individuals that are actively working as a health care provider in the field of emergency medicine. Our staff consists of Fire Fighters, Nurses, Paramedics, EMTs and Physicians Aids.

Our classes are different from others as they are not driven by text book alone, but from real world experiences of the trainer in conjunction with any one of the many certified programs, i.e., American Heart, A.S.H.I., etc.

Heart Start instructors pride themselves on the relaxed and fun environment they create in order to make the material easy to understand and recall. It is imperative that steps are remembered as easy as A,B,C,D in the unfortunate event that they are needed - it is this alone that can mean the difference between life and death.

People often have fears associated with utilizing these skills. Most of these fears can be removed if a person has a better understanding of what is actually happening. Although the subject is serious in nature, we do our best to interject humor and a relaxed format. We feel this is where people learn the best.
